Donation Terms

General Information

The Running Angels Sports Club collects donations for charitable purposes through this website, in the form of virtual adoption of training sessions. The training sessions are recorded by members and supporters of the Club using the Strava application. These sessions are stored anonymously in our side and are never associated with personal data.

All donations are forwarded to the beneficiary designated in the current campaign. Detailed information about each campaign and its beneficiaries can be found on the respective campaign’s page.

The Club does not collect donations for its own operations through the adoption of training sessions, and its members do not receive any share of the donations.

This website is operated by the Running Angels Sports Club. For more information see: About Us, Contact, Legal Notice.

Nature of Donations

Donations are entirely voluntary and do not entail any form of compensation. A donation does not constitute a purchase or the use of a service.

During the donation process, donors remain completely anonymous: the Running Angels Sports Club does not store donor data on its own servers or in the form of cookies. The payment transaction is securely processed by an external service provider (currently Barion), which records only the minimal data necessary to complete the transaction. The Club has no access to, and does not process, this information.

Since no personal data of the donor is available to us, the Club is unable to issue tax certificates for donations. Making a donation does not establish membership in the Running Angels Sports Club and does not grant any special rights to the donor. All donations are forwarded to the beneficiary designated in the current campaign.

Donation Methods

Donations are processed through the Barion payment system. The available payment methods are determined by Barion, allowing donors to choose from options such as bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or other methods offered by the provider.

The donation process is as follows:

  • Select a training session you would like to support on the Adopt a Session page.
  • Click on the donation amount linked to the chosen session to start the payment process.
  • You will then be redirected to Barion’s secure payment platform, where the transaction is completed.
  • Finally, Barion will redirect you back to our site, where you will receive information about the status of your transaction.

Use of Donations

Donations received through the virtual adoption of training sessions are forwarded to the beneficiary designated in the current campaign. The Club never uses these funds for its own operations or for the benefit of its members.

The beneficiary may be an individual, a family, a community, or an organization. Donations are used exclusively for the purposes defined in the given campaign, and the Running Angels Sports Club manages them with full transparency and responsibility.

At the conclusion of each campaign, the total amount collected is transferred in a single payment to the designated beneficiary. After every campaign, we publish detailed statistical and financial reports on our website and social media platforms.

Refunds and Withdrawal

Donations are voluntary, non-compensated contributions; therefore, the 14-day right of withdrawal provided under consumer protection laws does not apply.

Since donations are made anonymously, the Club does not have access to the donor’s personal data. Consequently, refunds of donations are not possible.

In the event of a transaction error, system malfunction, or duplicate payment, the Club will cooperate with the payment service provider to resolve the issue. In such cases, please contact Barion customer support or reach out to us via our Contact page.

Donors’ Rights and Responsibilities

The donor is entitled to:

  • be informed of the current campaign’s purpose and beneficiary before making a contribution,
  • receive transparent information on the use of donations through reports published after the campaign has concluded,
  • participate in a secure payment process conducted via the Barion system.

The donor is responsible for:

  • providing accurate information to the payment service provider,
  • using their own or an authorized bank card or other payment instrument lawfully for the donation,
  • acknowledging that the donation is voluntary, without consideration, and non-refundable.

We ensure the following rights and guarantees for donors:

  • Right to information: every donor is entitled to receive detailed information about which campaign their donation supports and how it will be used.
  • Transparency: donors may at any time view public reports and statistics related to the given campaign.
  • Security: the data provided during the donation process is treated confidentially and in compliance with applicable legal regulations.
  • Feedback opportunity: donors may at any time contact the Association with questions, comments, or suggestions, to which we provide prompt and substantive responses.
  • Right to anonymity: all donations are processed anonymously; the identity of the donor is not disclosed either by us or to visitors of the website.

Transparency and Accountability of Donations

The Running Angels Sports Club places utmost importance on transparency and accountability.

  • Following the conclusion of each campaign, we prepare a detailed financial and statistical report that includes the total amount of donations collected, the details of the transfers made to the beneficiary(ies), as well as related administrative information.
  • These reports are published publicly on our website and social media platforms, ensuring that the allocation and use of donations can be verified by anyone.
  • In addition to the published reports, the aggregated figures are also included in the Club’s annual reports.

Our commitment to transparency is intended to ensure that our supporters can place their trust in us and be confident that their contributions are used exactly for the purpose for which they were given.

Secure Payment

Donations are processed through the online payment system operated by Barion Payment Zrt. (registered office: 1117 Budapest, Infopark sétány 1.; MNB license number: H-EN-I-1064/2013). The Barion system operates in full compliance with applicable Hungarian and European Union legislation, as well as international security standards, including the PCI DSS requirements.

The Running Angels Sports Club does not, under any circumstances, access or process donors’ payment instrument details (e.g., bank card, account, or other financial information). Such data are handled exclusively within the Barion system in a secure and encrypted manner.

Donors may choose from the payment methods provided by Barion (e.g., bank card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, etc.), and all transactions are carried out in full compliance with the highest security standards.

Disclaimer of Liability

The Running Angels Sports Club exercises all due care in operating the donation platform and managing its campaigns. However, the Club does not accept liability in the following cases:

  • errors or outages resulting from the operation of the payment service provider’s system or other external providers,
  • issues arising from internet connectivity, user device malfunctions, or security deficiencies of such devices,
  • circumstances beyond the Club’s reasonable control (force majeure).

The Club’s liability is strictly limited to the transparent management of the campaigns it organizes, the transfer of donations to the designated beneficiaries, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

Legal Framework

For matters not regulated in these Donation Terms, the applicable Hungarian laws in force at any given time, as well as the relevant provisions of the European Union, shall apply.

In particular, but not exclusively, the following are applicable:

  • Act V of 2013 on the Civil Code,

  • Act CVIII of 2001 on Electronic Commerce Services and Certain Issues of Services Related to the Information Society,
  • as well as the European Union’s consumer protection and data protection regulations.
